Our Story
It all started in the Miami Airport.
Jocey and Gage met almost 10 years ago while on their way to a student-teaching trip in Otavalo, Ecuador. In addition to working with middle school students during the week, they took a slew of weekend trips around the country. One ended like this 👉
Then there was the classic meet-cute.
Two years after the infamous volcano hike, they collided on the streets of Cambridge, MA. Over the course of the next year, they went on a series of dates in the Boston area. But with Jocey about to move back to LA to start teaching, their future was uncertain.

Then they racked up frequent flier miles.
After Jocey's trip back to Cambridge for Harvard-Yale and Gage's trip to LA for work, a bi-coastal romance was born. They took advantage of their monthly cross-country trips, planning adventures down to Savannah, GA, into Joshua Tree National Park, and to the Big Apple.
Then there was Jane.
A year later, Gage moved out to LA and the two settled into their Culver City apartment with their energetic and unpredictable pup. Their weekends were filled with beach volleyball, Sawtelle's endless Asian food offerings, and trips to Rosie's dog beach.
Then they became techies.
In June of 2014, they moved up to San Franciso for new jobs. They're now in "rival" industries: EdTech vs. MedTech; grammar vs. grandmas. They have made lots of time for international travel and regular camping trips. They even eventually found an apartment where the bedroom had windows.
And then she said "yes."
Jocey and Gage got engaged in Armstrong Redwood State Reserve while on a weekend getaway up the Sonoma Coast. They'll be celebrating their wedding October 6, 2018, and couldn't be more excited.
